We offer multiple repairs and maintenance for many types of fireplace systems.
Below are some examples of what we offer:
TuckpointingThe mortar between the bricks of your chimney may be showing signs of deterioration and may need to be freshened up. Tuckpointing is the application of new mortar to help reinforce the bricks, it may be needed in just a few areas or in many. |
Smoke Chamber CoatingSmoke chamber walls should be smooth to allow the smoke and fumes from the fire to go up and out of the flue. We apply a coating to smooth them out to allow this process to occur. |
BracingSometimes a chimney needs additional support, especially if it is very tall. Bracing gives this additional support and better secures the chimney to the roof. |
Stainless-Steel LinerWhen the flue can no longer contain the fumes from having a fire in your fireplace, due to cracks, holes, misalignment of the tiles, etc., liners are recommended. We use stainless-steel liners for fireplaces.
Flue Tile TuckpointingIn some cases, the flue tiles in your flue may need to have the cement joining them repaired. We offer this repair when appropriate for your system, it is not always the correct repair. |
Masonry Water RepellentMasonry is an extremely porous material and allows water to penetrate deep within its surface. One brick can hold up to 1 cup of water. To prevent this from becoming a structural issue down the road, we recommend applying a masonry water repellent. This will lengthen the life of your chimney while preventing erosion and cracks and creating a barrier that water cannot penetrate. |
Water Heater LinersWater heater or furnace chimneys need a liner to help prevent condensation and carbon monoxide from escaping through holes and cracks in the flue into your home.
Firebox RebuildIt is recommended to rebuild the firebox when the firebox walls are hollow, when there are excessive holes or cracks, or when there is too much deterioration. We rebuild fireboxes when it is the appropriate repair for your unit. |
