We offer a variety of services and have listed some of them here. No matter what your chimney issue is, we can help.
- Chimney Cleaning/Visual Inspection
- Camera Inspection
- Cap Installation – A chimney cap prevents sparks from coming out of the flue and landing on your roof, potentially causing a fire. It also prevents leaves, birds and water from getting inside the chimney and creating unnecessary damage.
- Troubleshooting
- Damper Installation – This is an energy saver. It prevents downdrafts of cold air into your home during the winter and also prevents heating/cooling from escaping your home through the flue.
- Tuckpointing
- Masonry Water Repellent – Masonry is an extremely porous material and allows water to penetrate deep within its surface. 1 brick can hold 1 cup of water. To prevent this from becoming a structural issue down the road, we recommend applying a masonry water repellent. This will lengthen the life of your chimney while preventing erosion and cracks and creates a barrier that water cannot penetrate.
- Prefab Installations – This is usually an enclosed, gas ready start system with a double wall stainless-steel flue that travels within a steel stud or wooden box that can resemble a normal chimney with brick or can have siding on it.
- Inserts
- Flue Liners – Flue Liners are recommended when the flue tiles are broken and there are many cracks or there is no flue tile. This can lead to a less efficient fireplace, where heat and gases can escape. A flue liner is stainless steel and comes with a lifetime warranty.
- Flue tile Re tuck – When the mortar between the flue tiles crumble away or is no longer there, but the flue tile is not broken, a flue tile re-tuck is recommended. We apply a high temperature mortar between the seams to create a solid seal again.
- Creosote Treatment – Creosote is a byproduct of burning wood, it lines your chimney and must be cleaned annually. If not cleaned annually, it can create a build up. This build up comes in 3 stages. 1st degree is flaky and can be wiped off with a metal brush. 2nd degree starts to get glossy and looks like tar, is much harder to get off but possible with a Creosote Treatment, it is also much more flammable. 3rd degree Creosote build up is a very thick layer, extremely flammable, can create house fires, and a Creosote Treatment may or may not work at this stage.
- Gas log sets
- Log Lighters – This is a gas assembly that can be installed in your normal wood fireplace, with an on/off knob. There is usually a long tube with a bunch of holes that when lit and logs are placed on top, starts a fire very quickly without the need for starter logs or newspaper.
- Grates – The metal frame that holds the logs off the fireplace floor and allows them to burn while the ash falls down.
- Curtain Screens – These are screens that have been installed to the face of the firebox and open like a curtain.
- Bracing – Safely secure your chimney top to your roof especially if it extends past the roof line more than 5 feet.
- Smoke Chamber Coatings – This process is recommended to coat all the cracks and to reshape the smoke chamber to improve drafting and prevent leaks.
- Dryer Vent Cleaning
